چکیده
Background: Toxic epidermal necrolysis (TEN) is an uncommon but potentially fatal condition. TEN distinguished by apoptosis of keratinocytes, which results in erosion the mucous membrane and detachment. Case: A man, 20-year-old, came to hospital with skin sore blisters almost over his body, accompanied swollen eyes, on lips genital. Dermatological examination regio trunk showed erythematous hyperpigmented macules, irregularly shaped, multiple flaccid bullae, The suspected drug, carbamazepine was discontinued immediately, then patient given appropriate supportive treatment intravenous fluid drop (IVFD), systemic corticosteroid, antibiotic, topical treatment. After 10 days, recovery reepithelialization mucosal stabilized. discharged after 12 days if admission. Drug patch testing performed resulting positive result for carbamazepine. Conclusion: accurate diagnosis, avoidance use causative drug rapid may improve prognosis. reactions have high predictive value avoid using that future.

Carbamazepine-induced toxic epidermal necrolysis treated with intravenous immunoglobulin and amniotic membrane: A case report
Introduction: Toxic epidermal necrolysis (TEN) is a distinct clinical entity within a spectrum of adverse cutaneous drug reactions. The common causative drugs are anticonvulsants, non-steroidal anti inflammatory drugs, sulfonamides and other antibiotics. Carbamazepine is an important antiepileptic drug used to treat bipolar disorder, seizures and nerve pain such as trigeminal neuralgia and diab...

We present an extreme case of Toxic Epidermal Necrolysis, which corresponds to a severe form of Stevens Johnson Syndrome. This is a potentially fatal immune reaction that affects skin and mucosa, producing blisters and sloughing of the epithelium. Severe sequelae, including blindness, hearing loss, tooth malformation and esophageal destruction are seen in this case.
متن کاملPhenytoin-induced toxic epidermal necrolysis: a case report.
We present a case of phenytoin-induced toxic epidermal necrolysis resulting in 60-70% skin involvement. Systemic corticosteroids and prophylactic antibiotics used initially were discontinued, and subsequent management concentrated on intensive supportive treatment. The patient survived, but is left with disabling ocular complications.

Toxic epidermal necrolysis (TEN) is severe cutaneous hypersensitivity reaction characterized by necrosis of the epidermis and detachment of the epidermis and dermis that usually occurs as an idiosyncratic reaction to certain drugs. We report the case of a patient admitted to our Intensive Care Unit after an above-the-knee amputation who developed toxic epidermal necrolysis, possibly resulting f...

Drug induced toxic epidermal necrolysis and Stevens Johnson syndrome are more commonly associated with medications such as sulfonamides, penicillin, anticonvulsants, oxicam non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, allopurinol and corticosteroids. Isolated instances secondary to drugs outside of the aforementioned classes have also been reported. We report a case of probable toxic epidermal necrol...
